Week 53

Hello Everyone,

Thursday
Today I hit one year on my mission. In the morning we got a call from Ebo asking when we will come. We said we will be there around 4:00pm. We were going to see another investigator and decided to take a different way. We ended up stopping by a member who was not doing well, so we had the opportunity to give her a blessing. Afterwards we returned to the apartment for interviews with President Keyes, which went great. We had a little Nerf gun war with him that was really fun.  Then it was back to work. We went to see Ebo, but he wasn't there so we taught another guy.  We called Ebo who said he was on his way.  At the end of teaching this guy about the Book of Mormon, Ebo comes and says that this book is so true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God.  Sadly, that was the only sentence that he could say right because, well, he had been drinking.  We will work on him. Afterwards, we went to see Martha and had an amazing lesson. We invited her to be baptized and she said yes. So hopefully August 11 will be the day.

Friday
Today we started off teaching Timothy, which went really well. We taught the plan of salvation and he really loved it. Then we taught Beatrice lesson one which was really good. We then went to see Michael, who told us something cool. Last week he called us over (on the street) and he doesn't know why, and today he prayed that we would come. Less than an hour after he prayed, we called.  So, we taught and extended a baptismal date and he said yes. In the evening we had a training for ward leaders with our mission president which was really good.

Saturday
We started off teaching Selina. She is searching for a church, so she is interested and really liked the message we shared. Today we also did a lot of inviting people to church.

Sunday
Well, only one investigator came to church. We are going to see her Monday night, and plan to give a baptismal date invitation to her. In the evening I had a baptismal interview in the Teshie 3 area which is in my district. It was interesting, in the middle of the interview, the baby comes up crying, and out comes the natural pacifier. So yeah, that makes for an interesting interview.

The work is coming along and hopefully this next week we will have some more baptismal dates.

Until next week
Elder Marcusen
