Hello everyone,
Sorry I am late this week, but we wanted to go to the temple before it closed so we moved our P-day to Wednesday.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY Everyone! Today to celebrate we went to Burger King, and man it was amazing! When I went last week, because I have not eaten American food in so long, it destroyed my stomach for one week. Hopefully it will not be the same this time. They had pickles on it and that was amazing, and the fries were so good. It was great to have a little American food on America's birthday.
OK so I don’t have much time today so it will be short.
Last week I was transferred to Adjorman in Teshie which is one of the closest areas to where the prime meridian and the equator meet, not the closest but closeish. I was sad to say good bye, but after spending 7 months I was a little ready to explore a new part of Ghana. I am still district leader in my new area.
Our mission president sent this to all of us and I thought I would share it because it is so true. Tomorrow I will hit one year out. One year ago today being Wednesday is when I entered the MTC.
Since I have been on mission:
I have never been so happy, I have never been so depressed.
I have never felt so forsaken, I have never felt so blessed.
I have never been so confused, my mind has never been so clear.
I have never felt my Heavenly Father so distant, I have never felt Him so near.
I have never been so discouraged, never so full of hope.
I feel like I can go on forever, I think that I have come to the end of my road.
I have never had it so easy, I have never had it so tough.
Things have never gone so smoothly, things have never been so rough
I have never travelled through so many valleys, I have never ascended so many peaks.
I have never met so many neat people, I have never met so many freaks.
I have never had so many ups, I have never had so many downs.
I have never worn so many smiles, I have never seen so many frowns.
I have never been so lonely, I have never had so many friends.
President I hope this is all over with soon … gosh, President I hope it never ends
I would like to add one… How will I ever eat this, How did I eat that?
Right now we are working on following up on contacts from the last Elder in the area, and doing some of our own contacting. We met a guy who speaks Japanese and is a Ghanaian, he read a lot of the book of Mormon before we returned .
Next week I will give more details, but at this apartment I found a large plastic box. This plastic box will spin and you can put water in it but it will only spin for 15 minutes, then you have to twist a knob to keep it spinning. It magically makes clothes clean!!! The box is pictured below.
Well, have a great time blowing things up tonight without me.
Elder Marcusen
