Sorry I am a day late. Yesterday the power was out all day, so we went proselyting.
Tuesday
Well getting in a TroTro to go to district council was a little hard after seeing the one that had rolled and killed people yesterday. Today we had a late family home evening with Hellen’s family. We also tried to find Joseph but we couldn't so we helped brother Kotaka melt some aluminum to make a pot which was fun.
Wednesday
So today the water ran out and it took until 2:00 for them to get here. After we had a solid lesson with Lawrence then we got a call from the bishop that a member in the ward wants us to teach her grandson. She said he has to be baptized the first week of March, which is really quick. When we asked why, she just said that is when I want him baptized. If he can’t pass the interview, there is nothing we can do but push it back, so we accepted this challenge.
Thursday
We met with Benjamin, who of course was drunk. So, wanting him to stop we told him we will come back tomorrow and we don't want to be able to smell the alcohol on him. In the evening, we were able to meet with Joseph and reschedule the baptism for in two weeks. Hopefully this time it will happen.
Friday
We went to see Benjamin. We couldn't find him at the bar so that was a good thing. We went to his home and he had not had a drink that day, but instead he was smoking weed. So yeah, I am losing the little hope I had for him.
Saturday
We had a typical Saturday. Everyone was at a funeral or wedding so we spent the day visiting our backups, backups and their backups…
Sunday
We went to talk to the grandmother to ask her where she lives and we found out she isn’t in our ward or our stake or the neighboring stake possibly. Then she said basically missionary work is not our business. We will continue to teach him, but will have to do it at the church.
Monday
I opened my barber shop, well sort of. A missionary heard that I cut my own hair (only once, it was the first time I cut hair) and asked me to do it. Well, he is not bald so I think it is good. We visited Benjamin but we found him smoking a big thing of weed. We tried teaching him but it took 20 times telling him something and writing it down for him to be able to repeat what we said.
Have a great week and Valentine ’s Day!
Love
