Week 31

Hello everyone ,

Tuesday
It was sweet! We taught our final lesson to Christabell. Now all that remains is the interview, but she is so ready.

Wednesday
We started off by visiting Lawrence, who is always so fun to teach and always wants to learn. Then we went to teach Benjamin. When we showed up, all the drunk guys wanted to ask us questions, but it’s so fun to teach them. One even knew about doctrine and covenants. So yeah, it’s always fun.

Thursday
A great day out teaching the word of God, which is a wonderful thing today. We had our last lesson with Joseph before his interview, which was sweet. I can’t wait for Saturday.

Friday
So, because of interviews I went on splits out to Dodawa, which is nothing like the city. It is beautiful and is at the base of the mountains. One of our lessons was sweet because we got coconuts. There was the happiest baby who just loved holding my finger, which was different because most of the time they burst out crying when they see a white person.

Saturday
This morning was the baptism. So 4 people were supposed to be baptized, but when the time came for it to start the only one there was Christabell. For some reason Joseph did not show up and the two 8 year olds hadn't been interviewed by the bishop. However, it was so sweet to see Christabell baptized.

Sunday
My companion and I were given the opportunity to bless the sacrament, which was fun and a great thing to be able to do. Well, our small chapel has become the stake center and it’s not a big enough building. It’s so sweet to see the church grow.

Well today, I really know for a fact that the Lord blesses and protects his missionaries. We were at a trotro stop, and I got the impression we should wait for a trotro that is more rare, that would take us right to our apartment instead of taking the one that was available. One shortly came and as we were about half way to our apartment, we saw a trotro that had rolled on the highway. It looked like the one we could have gotten into. If we were in it, it very well could have killed us, as some of the people were clearly dead. I know that I am being watched over and being guided by the Holy Ghost.

Hope you are all doing well!
Love, Elder Marcusen
