Week 79

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It is 2019 and the year of lasts on my mission begins, but today we will start with firsts.
New years eve night was eating pizza and staying at the mission home enjoying AC!!!! I have forgotten how nice it is to be cold when you are sleeping and not sweating so much.

Tuesday I celebrated the New Year by taking a hot water shower! It was the first time in so long that wasn't from a bucket where I had boiled the water and then use a cup to shower. This is going to be a great year.  We were in the mission home for exchanges with the APs. I was with Elder Budge who was my companion from the MTC. It was so great to be together again. We had a great day teaching in his area then an unexpected bonus, we got to stay the night at the mission home again.

Wednesday we spent the day doing zone leader stuff, going to a district council and interviewing all the missionaries and delivering supplies.

Thursday I went on an another exchange and we had a great lesson with Issac. He came to know the church through listening to The Tabernacle choir at temple square (motab). He said next week he will come to church, so YAY!  We also got to teach Raymond, and this guy just changed and has become so interested in the gospel.

Friday I went on another exchange with one of the elders in our apartment who is in training, Elder Bangura. This guy has fire in the work he loves to teach and learn so it made for a great day teaching.

Saturday started off teaching Justina and she absolutely loves the Book of Mormon. She is set on reading it, so we read some of it with her and helped her understand it.

Sunday was interesting, it was two hours and started at ten but we found out that we will have to be at church every Sunday at 8:00am for ward council so instead of 2 hour church we basically will have 4 hours, so yay. After church we went and taught Simon who we just started teaching. We should baptize him in the next couple of week so the work is starting to pick up.

Have a great new year!
Love, Elder Marcusen
