Mission summed up in one week; amazing, stressful, full of experiences, rejection, converts, always watched over and prayed for, and most of all an amazing adventure that nothing can compare too!
So on Tuesday the zone leaders where visiting our district. In the middle of district meeting, as I was conducting, one of the sisters started coughing and then went in to a asthma attack, we think. We got her outside for fresh air, and it got worse. So we got a taxi, and here is one of the miracles, we called president to tell him we were going to the hospital. It was a miracle that he answered because he was in the middle of a zone conference. We headed to the hospital, and while driving she stopped breathing a couple of times. So I tell the taxi driver we need to get there now! So we start driving down the middle of the two lane road. I give my comp my oil and say she needs a blessing. He anoints and then I turned around from the front seat and seal it and do the blessing. It was crazy because we are going down the middle of the road. We got her to the hospital, and they take her to the ICU and give her oxygen. Being the district leader, and the Sisters not having a phone, I stayed the whole day and into the evening. They said she had to stay the night and I had to get the permission from president for her to do that. By the time we got back to the apartment it was 7:30 pm, and I was just tired.
Wednesday
Today we went and saw Whitney and had our first lesson with her. We started teaching and in the middle we asked if she had any questions. She said, "actually I did, but you guys answered it with out me asking". She said she has never been baptized and really wants to. That she loves our church. "It is the best one I have ever been to". You can imagine how happy we were.
Thursday
Well, because of Tuesday falling apart, today we were only able to teach Micheal. Today I truly felt that he was ready for his baptism this Saturday. Every other appointment fell through, even contacting didn't go well. No one wanted to listen, but we make it fun.
Friday
Today was great, we got to teach Steven and Mavis some of the post baptism lessons. That was really fun, they are so smart.
Saturday
Today we were teaching, and this lady just comes up and says your done, stop teaching and wouldn't let us finish our lesson. She made us leave right then. The lesson had been going so well and it was great, but some people just have to hate. We then taught this guy named Progress, who is interested. This morning we had Michael's baptism and it was great! He was so happy!
Sunday
Today Micheal was confirmed a member and that was great. Then in the evening we got to watch the restoration video with a recent convert which was fun.
Love,
Elder Marcusen
