Week 57

Hello everyone,

This week was a great week!

Tuesday
We started off teaching the restoration with Auntie Ama. Then we went to see Kate and had a wonderful lesson, with some great questions. Later we finished teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to Michael.

Wednesday
Today started off with teaching Bismark the word of wisdom. He has accepted to live it and follow it. While there we met a guy named Hope. We have talked to him before and he shared a story with us about how he was in a car and it rolled multiple time, but he says that because he had his book of Mormon with him he was saved. Cool. Later, we finished teaching Mavis and set the appointment for her baptismal interview on Friday.

Thursday
Today we had to go to Accra. Coming back took forever because our trotro filled up really slowly. We were able to meet with Martha and met her friend, but she was busy so we will return later. We then had to meet the zone leader so that we could do exchanges.

Friday
Today I am in the zone leaders area. After having a lot of appointments falling through we meet with Nana who is a 7th day church member. So, the main thing we talked about was which day is the Sabbath. It was going good and we were using the scriptures, but then this guy come and joins in and just starts arguing with us for about 45 min.  We didn’t leave, trust me I wanted to, but the Spirit prompted me to stay so we did. After so much I was like, Ok we will never agree on this but we can share a wonderful message about Christ and how his gospel was restored. I said we would like to start with a prayer and invite the Spirit. So, I prayed and they completely change from contention to learning. We taught them for another hour and they absolutely loved our message. When I shared the story of Joseph Smith, the Spirit was so strong and I could see it in their eyes. By the end they were open to the Sabbath being Sunday and that if the book of Mormon is true, that they will join our church. It was a wonderful lesson.

Saturday
Today was great. We taught Michael the last lesson he needs before baptism. Now we are just waiting to hear back for the interview. After we taught Comfort and a couple of other people.

Sunday
We had three investigators at church.  It’s always fun to correct false doctrine. However, today we had a couple of lessons that were good.
