Week 64

Hello Everyone,

I have a new companion this week straight from the MTC.  He is Elder Orton from Spanish Fork Utah.

Tuesday:
We went around saying good bye to everyone for Elder Warr which was fun.

Wednesday:
This morning I went to the mission home to pick up my companion and to do some training. After training we got some nice hot dogs/ sausage things then we loaded the luggage which was a feat in and of itself (pictured below). Well, we hit two of the three drop off areas and then the driver didn’t know how to get to our area, so we went all the way back to Accra, and through Accra to get on a road the the driver knew went to Teshie. We got back at 8 pm when we left at 2pm. We were so tired. Sitting in a cramped car all afternoon is not fun.

Thursday:
Today I started training my companion. We went around and had some lessons and did some contacting. We found out that one of my favorite members in this ward had just had a stroke on Tuesday, so we rushed over there.  We found out he is improving slowly. He can now talk, but he still can’t use the right side of his body. He asked  me to give him a blessing and I did.

Friday:
Today was fun! It started out with interviews with president, which is one of the things I always look forward to. Afterwards we had some lessons and did some contacting

Saturday:
We got to have an amazing lesson with our first contact together. When we gave him an assignment he told us that it wasn't big enough, so we gave him some more to read out of the book of Mormon and told him where.

Sunday:
Well, church here is something! But it’s fun and all part of the experience.

Love,
Elder Marcusen
