Week 20

Hello Everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tuesday
We started off with district counsel. In our district we are small, we have 4 elders and 2 sisters. Today we had an amazing lesson with Joyceline, she is being so receptive to the gospel.

Wednesday
Today was a birthday for one of elders in our apartment. Here in Ghana on people’s birthday you get them wet or soak them.  So, we cornered him and pored a bucket on him. It’s amazing in this area because of all the people we have contacted are really serious, which never happens.

Thursday
Today started off with choir.  I just love to start the day with choir because it brings a strong spirit to the day. Later we had an amazing lesson with a recent convert about the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ and the repentance process.  When we truly repent our sins can be completely washed away with no mark because of our Savior’s merciful plan.

Friday
We started teaching this guy named Aby, who we contacted last night. In the lesson we found out that he had read the pamphlet we gave him, which never happens. In the middle of the lesson a member came up and invited him and us to dinner, which was an amazing because this investigator really felt at home.

Saturday
This morning was choir. Afterwards the office elders came to our area and dropped off new bikes as the last ones we had were dead. My new bike is the best! It’s got a bell, and it’s a light pink purple color with flowers on it!!!!! I will include a photo next time of it. Now all it needs now is a flower basket on the front (LOL).  Today we went around and inviting people to church.

Sunday
For our first Sunday in the area were late to church, but we had a good reason, we were bringing investigators to church.  At church we had 5 investigators and they were all contacts which was amazing. Right after sacrament meeting all of the members swarmed them and helped them to feel loved. In the gospel principles book on eternal marriage, there is a photo of a couple in front of the Ghana Accra temple. They are in my ward.

So dinner! It was hard to eat, but it tasted amazing. It probably is the best meat I have had here in Ghana, and maybe in my life. The meat was dog!!!! It was hard to get over what it was, but its good.

Monday
President came and did interviews, which he joked with me about going back to HoHoe.  However, if it happened I wouldn't mind because where ever I am, is where the Lord needs me.

Love,
Elder Marcusen
